2-1-1 is the number to dial for information and referrals.

  • 2-1-1 Broward is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents of Broward County by providing access, through caring and professional guidance and advocacy, to essential community health and human services. Once a 2-1-1 Counselor assesses the needs of the caller, their goal is to provide them with the most accurate information, resources and referrals to the agency and program that can best meet their needs.


  • 2-1-1 Broward’s information, resource and referral service is designed to empower individuals and families with information and support that enables them to make positive, informed decisions that will help to ensure their overall well-being.


  • 2-1-1 Broward offers comprehensive support to individuals and families by assessing their full range of needs, connecting them to a network of providers who can meet those needs, and following up to ensure that these callers received services. Stress is significantly reduced when critical issues such as loss of income, loss of home, lack of healthcare , insufficient food, mental illness, or feelings of anger and/or frustration are resolved.


  • 2-1-1 Broward also provides supportive services to provider organizations by supplying information about community resources, eligibility requirements of other agencies and information on how to navigate services, all which help them respond to the comprehensive needs of their clients.

Community Resource Database

The 2-1-1 Community resource Department collects information from more than 800 of Broward County’s human service agencies and has the single most comprehensive inventory of over 4,500 programs in the community Resource database. Agency and program information is updated on a regular basis, so that referrals can be as accurate and appropriate as possible.

Funding for 2-1-1 Helpline provided by Children’s Services Council of Broward County, United Way of Broward County, Broward County, Bank of America Foundation, Coral Springs Community Chest, Sun-Sentinel Children’s Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation, Cities of Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Lauderdale Lakes, Oakland Park, Plantation, and Pompano Beach and Town of Davie
